The boxing event of the East Asian Youth Games is underway in Mongolia
There are several multisport events in the Asian continent this year, and after the Southeast Asian Games, the next is the East Asian Youth Games. Mongolia’s capital city, the historic Ulaanbaatar is the host of the new East Asian Youth Games and it is holding with the participation of strong countries between August 16 and 23.
More than 1500 athletes will participate in the East Asian Youth Games in 11 sports for 88 gold medals including in athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, esports, football, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and wrestling.
The Organizing Committee of the Games approved the official mascot still in November 2022 and the Mongolian organizers made intense preparations for the event from March 2023. The logo of the East Asian Youth Games was inspired from the upper frame of the Mongol traditional yurt.
China, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau, host Mongolia, Chinese Taipei and Guam have the rights to compete in the East Asian Youth Games this August. China, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, and Chinese Taipei sent boxers to the East Asian Youth Games.
Following the Grand Opening Ceremony, the boxing event of the Games has begun in the first official competition day. The official draw confirmed the participation of 14 female and 29 male boxers who are competing for the ten available titles in Mongolia’s capital.
The venue of the boxing event of the Games is the Mongolian Wrestling Palace, which has the capacity of 2,500 spectators.
