In memoriam Ina Ruby Schuster
Why God lets good people die early? This is the main question in our life but the other side of the story that we have to remember our heroes in boxing who passed away earlier as we all expected.
New Zealand’s Mrs. Ina Ruby Schuster was a young lady, who always smiled, she was a mother and a fully respected person in her community and also in the whole Boxing World. Unfortunately, we have to say a good bye to her despite that she was only in the beginning of her career as a Referee and Judge.
She was born in a boxing family, her coach father, Henry, supported the preparations of such great boxers as David Tua, Shane Cameron, Junior Fa and Shay Brock.
Ina Schuster achieved gold medals as a boxer in the New Zealand National Boxing Championships twice, in 2000 and in 2005.
Ina worked as Referee & Judge in various national and international competitions including the South Pacific Games and the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament.
She was named as the President of the New Zealand Referee & Judge Boxing Association in 2021 and she worked until her death.
Ina passed away due to an aggressive cancer but the Boxing Family will remember her polite personality and amazing working attitude.
Rest in peace, Ina.
