Lopez and La Cruz both won the 1st Cuban National Selection Tournament for the Panamerican Games

The Panamerican Games will take place in Santiago de Chile from October 21 and the event serves as the Olympic Qualifier in the region.

The two-time Olympic Games winner Arlen Lopez landed the better shots than Jorge Soto and the 30-year-old boxer bagged the title of the light heavyweight (80kg).

The 34-year-old Julio Cesar La Cruz, the two-time Olympic Champion had still the speed to beat Nelson Williams at the heavyweight (92kg).

The silver medallist from the recent World Championships, Fernando Arzola smashed Adonis Iznaga and he earned the title of the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Havana.

The next round of the Cuban National Panamerican Games Qualifier will be held to decide all of their places for Santiago de Chile on September 6.
