Seven countries ruled the Moldavian Belt Tournament

Kazakhstan, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Hungary, Italy, and Ukraine all claimed gold medals at the Moldavian Belt Youth & Junior Tournament in Iasi, Romania.

The city of Iasi was the host of the Moldavian Belt Youth & Junior Tournament in Romania which was a preparation competition before some of the major championships.

Serbia’s Andjelija Kovcic won the first female final in the Moldavian Belt where she had a close success against Romania’s Natalia Semenciuc. Spain’s duo, Cristina Peinado and Ana Ubis both impressed in the final competition day and left Romania with gold medals.

The Kazakh junior boxers won five titles out of the 13 available gold medals in Iasi and some of the finals were selections between their talents before the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships.

Aldiyar Bakhadur (48kg), Bauyrzhan Muratov (54kg), the rising star Tagir Satayev (63kg), Zhassulan Berdaly (70kg) and Bakytzhan Aitmukhanov (80kg) were their gold medallists in this preparation event.

Spain’s Carlos Diaz won the first youth title in the Moldavian Belt Tournament, he stopped Romania’s Stefan Ionita at the minimumweight (48kg) final. His teammate, Daniel Rodriguez also succeeded in the competition, he had a strong success over a Ukrainian talent.

The Hungarians earned four gold medals in the youth part of the competition, their Csaba Zsigo (51kg), Kevin Kozak (54kg) and two European Junior Champions, Levente Olah (63.5kg) and Krisztian Nileborg (75kg).
