The Official Draw of the Rodriguez Cal U22 Memorial Tournament confirmed the participation of 73 boxers

The official draw of the Enrique Rodriguez Cal U22 Memorial Tournament was held at the Hotel Rey Sancho in Palencia, Spain today evening.

The Technical Delegate of the tournament Mr. Viorel Sima and the President of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation Mr. Felipe Martinez led the Technical Meeting in Palencia.

The competition was named by Spain’s first ever Olympic medallist, Enrique Rodriguez Cal who claimed bronze medal at the 1972 Munich Olympics and he also had impressive results in the 1st World Boxing Championships and the Mediterranean Games.

Altogether 73 boxers including ten girls will compete for the gold medals in the historic first edition Enrique Rodriguez Cal U22 Memorial Tournament.

The first competition day will consist 13 male contests in Palencia which is located at the Castilla y Leon region of Spain.

Belgium, England, France, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Ukraine and Wales are the participating nations in this U22 international tournament.

Spain’s European Youth Championships bronze medallist Ganda Coulibaly and Belgium’s Omar-Shayan Ahmad will compete in the first session of the Enrique Rodriguez Cal U22 Memorial Tournament tomorrow.

France’s promising Hugo Grau will meet Hungary’s teenage talent Dominik Enekes in the second bout of the competition on Day1.

Frank Martinez of Spain and Dorulet Tiu of Romania both earned medals in international championships therefore their contest could be an exciting one at the men’s light middleweight (71kg).
