Maria Cecchi will fight for the WBC Mediterranean title

Barcelona, Spain will host the WBC Mediterranean super bantam female title between the Italian, former two times EBU European title challenger Maria Cecchi (9-2-0) and the Barcelona born Karla Merida (5-2-1).

The fight will be schedule for 10 rounds with the winner getting a position on the TOP 15 WBC’s super-bantamweight ranking.

Cecchi last fought on July 8 when she beat Serbian-Hungarian Jasmina Nad. Merida’s last fight was on May 20, when she lost on point to Marian Herreria.
