Wood gets a dramatic KO win over Warrington, defends WBA title

Leigh Wood (28-3) got a stunning knockout victory over Josh Warrington (31-3-1) to retain his WBA World featherweight title in Sheffield.

Warrington was dominating the fight until seventh round, when Wood rocked him with a big left then continued with flurry of punches to knock him down. Even though Warrington got up, he couldn’t continue the fight.

All three judges had Warrington in front until seventh round.  

“I fight until the end, I’ve not got a quit in me. I knew he’d get sloppy at times and I made him pay,” Wood told BBC Radio 5 Live.
