Thirty boxers qualified from the Panamerican Games to the Olympics

All of the 30 quotas have been shared in the Panamerican Games in Santiago de Chile where the semi-finals confirmed the 26 finalists as well.

Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, and EAI individual athletes from Guatemala are the 27 participating countries in this Panamerican Games.

The Brazilians earned nine Olympic spots for the Paris 2024 Olympics which is the best performance from the South American country. Among the six girls, only their middleweight (75kg) boxer, Viviane Pereira did not qualify yet for the Olympics but Caroline De Almeida (50kg), Tatiana Chagas (54kg), Jucielen Romeu (57kg), Beatriz Ferreira (60kg) and Barbara Dos Santos (66kg) all succeeded in Santiago de Chile.

Among the top Brazilian male boxers, Wanderson Oliveira will be there in the upcoming World Qualifiers but Michael Trindade (51kg), Wanderley Pereira (80kg), Keno Machado (92kg) and Abner Junior Teixeira (+92kg) all earned their spots in the Panamerican Games.

The United States claimed three female and two male quotas for the upcoming Olympics, their World Champion Jahmal Harvey eliminated Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira in the day of the semi-finals and he made a revenge for a previous loss.

The Colombians impressed in the women’s part of boxing in the Panamerican Games, all of their three qualified boxers advanced to the finals in Chile: Jenny Marcela Arias, Valeria Arboleda and Angie Paola Valdes.

The Cubans have a world-class male team but only three out of their seven boxers qualified from the Panamerican Games but including their two-time Olympic Champion duo, Arlen Lopez (80kg) and Julio Cesar La Cruz (92kg).

The Canadians, the Ecuadorians, the Panamanians, and the Mexicans all impressed with their developments in the Games.
