Cieslak beats McCarthy, defends EBU European title

Michal Cieslak (25-2) defended the EBU European Cruiser title by beating British Tommy McCarthy (20-5) on Saturday in Zakopane, Poland, via TKO in seventh round.

Cieslak won the EBU European title in April this year, beating French Dylan Bregeon with KO in fourth round.

Former world champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (64-4-1) stopped Colombian Edwin Mosquera (10-3-2) in first round. Wlodarczyk finished the job in 84 seconds.

In other fights in the show held in Zakopane, Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-1) won on points against Panamian Omir Rodriguez (13-12-1).

Jan Czerklewicz (12-1) also got a victory via unanimous decision over Venezuelan Omar Garcia (18-11), as did Kamil Bednarek (13-0) over Nicaraguan Ramiro Blanco (19-28-3).
