Pacheco continues to impress, is nearing big fights

Diego Pacheco (20-0) is continuing to impress. 22-year-old prodigy on Saturday night in Inglewood, USA stopped former title challenger, Argentinian Marcelo Coceres (32-6-1) on 9th round to defend WBC USA and WBO International titles in super-middleweight.

It was very tough test for Pacheco. After 8 rounds one judge had the fight as draw (76:76) and two others had Pacheco ahead (77:75 and 78:74).

Pacheco has his sights set on even bigger steps up next year.

“I feel I’m one of the top guys in the division,” he said. “I’m 22 years old. I’m not a real big, vocal guy who comes out and says it, but everyone around me says it, Eddie Hearn thinks the same thing, a lot of the boxing experts think I’m ready for the big fights. Let’s get it on. 2024, I’m ready for whoever.”

A potential fight between Pacheco and Edgar Berlanga (21-0) could be a possibility next year.
