Taylor determined to avenge loss to Cameron: I’m ready to fight

Irish superstar Katie Taylor (22-1) is determined to avenge her only loss in professional career. Taylor on Saturday night on her home soil in Dublin will meet in a rematch British Chantelle Cameron (18-0) for undisputed title in super-lightweight.

In their first encounter on May 20, Cameron won in Dublin via majority decision, in a spectacular fight. It was Taylor’s first fight on home soil in professional boxing career.

Taylor is determined to avenge that loss.

“I feel a lot better this time around,” said Taylor, 37. “I’m just ready to fight. I hate all the talk, I hate all these press conferences, there’s nothing to say, I am just excited and ready. I have a second chance and I just can’t wait to fight at this stage. I am seen as the underdog or the favorite, whoever walks first or second, it’s irrelevant, I am just hungry for the rematch, I can’t wait to step in there on Saturday and perform the way I know I can. I understand that this is a huge fight, I understand it is must-win for me, I know I am going to perform to the best of my ability on Saturday and it’s going to be a completely different fight to last time and I am just excited to showcase that.”

Taylor has the chance to join Claressa Shields as only women that won undisputed title in two weight divisions. She was undisputed champion in lightweight.

Cameron said that she had the best preparation ever and is ready for the fight.

“I’ve had great preparation, I’m the fittest and strongest that I have ever been, I don’t have a torn triceps this time, so I am good to go. I am not complacent whatsoever, that’s why I put the work in”, Cameon said.
