Oliha defeats Vukshinaj, defends IBO World title

Italian Etinosa Oliha (19-) defended his IBO World title in middleweight on Saturday night, beating Kosovan-Swiss Faton Vukshinaj (16-1-2) by unanimous decision.

It was the main event of the show held in Rietberg, Germany and promoted by Agon Sports.

Vukshinaj was confident ahead of fight and promised to take the world title to Switzerland. But he didn’t manage to do that. Even though Vukshinaj showed heart, Oliha was dominant and used perfectly his height advantage.

In the end judges Uwe Lorch and Benoit Roussel scored the fight 117:111 for Oliha and judge Giustino di Giovanni scored the fight 118:110.

For Oliha was the first title defense. For Vukshinaj it was the first loss in his professional boxing career.
