Gwynne wins EBU lightweight title
Gavin Gwynne (17-2-1) won the EBU European lightweight title. 33-year-old stopped the Italian Emiliano Marsili (42-1-1) in round eight on Friday night in show held in “York Hall”.
47-year-old Marsili had to retire on beginning of round eight due to shoulder injury.
Marsili was winning on points after seven rounds. Two judges, Oleba Pobyvailo (77:75) and Zvonko Rukavina (78:74), was seeing Marsili on front. And Smail Alitouche (77:75) saw Gwynne in front.
In undercard where two WBC International fights and one WBO European.
Sam Noakes (12-0) stopped Carlos Perez (19-8-2) and won WBC International Silver lightweight title, and Raven Chapman (8-0) won Czech Lucie Sedlackova (15-2-1) on points to win WBC International Feather title.
Brad Strand (11-0) won WBO European title in super-bantamweight. He beat Joshua John (8-2) by unanimous decision.
