Big battles at the Uzbekistan National Championships in neutral environment
The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was held in their capital city in Tashkent where the Olympic weight categories were on the focus of the competition.
Uzbekistan achieved only four Olympic quotas at the Asian Games therefore the best of the bests competed in the other nine weight categories to decide the places in the national team before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
The management of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation used neutral referees and judges from all over the world to arrange fair play in their National Championships.
The best boxers from each region and the national team members could compete in the Championships and after all competition days, 25 women and men champions have been crowned in Tashkent.
Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova has qualified for the Olympic Games but top future hopes such as Feruza Kazakova (50kg), Sitora Turdibekova (57kg), Raykhona Kodirova (60kg), Navbakhor Khamidova (66kg) and Aziza Zokirova (75kg) earned the gold medals with impressive performance in the female Olympic categories.
The defending World Champion of the light welterweight (63.5kg), Ruslan Abdullayev had a crucial battle against Mujibullo Tursunov in the final but he managed the best strategy against a top opponent.
Another reigning World Champion, Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev was unable to box in the last competition day therefore Khavasbek Asadullayev won the title of the light middleweight (71kg) without any contests.
A Youth World Champion from 2022, Turabek Khabibullayev, the 19-year-old promising boxer, defeated his main national rival, Jasurbek Yuldashev in the final of the light heavyweight (80kg) and he earned his first gold medal on home soil.
The 2022 Asian Champion Lazizbek Mullojonov had two world-class rivals at the heavyweight (92kg) but he destroyed both of them, Nusratbek Tokhirov and Madiyar Saidrakhimov therefore he cruised to the Olympic Qualifiers.
