The 75th Strandja Memorial Tournament will be a strong preparation event in 2024
The 75th edition of the Strandja Memorial Tournament will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from February 2 until the 12th.
After the strong Strandja Memorial Tournament, the Bulgarian Boxing Federation will welcome the National Federations in a joint international
The traditional event will be a great opportunity to prepare actively before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
The 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event will take place in Busto Arsizio, North Italy between February 29 and March 13 therefore the interest to the Bocskai Memorial Tournament is huge from the National Federations.
The women boxers will be able to compete in all of the 12 weight categories in Bulgaria’s capital while the male athletes will fight for 13 titles.
The visa requests must be sent to all National Federations to the Bulgarian LOC not later than December 20, 2023.
The Strandja Memorial Tournament is the oldest international competition in the European continent and it is well-known all over the world.
The first edition of the Strandja Memorial Tournament was held in Sofia in 1950 and the competition saw amazing stars in the recent decades.
The last 74th Strandja Memorial Tournament delivered fantastic battles in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 2023 where the host nation’s boxers impressed in these finals. Among the European boxing powers next to the Bulgarians, the Irish girls proved fantastic performance in this Strandja Memorial Tournament. The Uzbeks made also a huge impact in Sofia and used the event as preparation for the World Boxing Championships.
The number of the participating boxers were nearly 400 in 2023 and all of the five Confederations sent their hopes to the prestigious Strandja Memorial Tournament.
