Haney dominates Prograis, becomes two-weight champion
Devin Haney (33-0) beat Regis Prograis (29-2) on Saturday night in his hometown San Francisco to win WBC title in super-lightweight division.
Undisputed champion in lightweight division, Haney, dominated in his first fight in super-light division.
He knocked-down Prograis in round three and was in total control. In the end all three judges scored the fight 120:107 in favor of Haney.
Haney thus became a two-weight division world champion.
“It’s a dream come true,” Haney said. “I knew I had him hurt a few times. I went in there and was real disciplined. I made it as easy as possible.”
In undercard Liam Paro (24-0) continued unbeaten streak. He stopped Montana Love (18-2-1) in sixth round and defended WBO Global Super Light title.
