Barroso stops Davies in first round, claims WBA Interim title

Venezuelan Ismael Barroso (25-4-2) won WBA Interim World super-lightweight title. 40-year-old on Saturday night in Las Vegas stopped Britain’s Ohara Davies (25-3) in first round. Barroso dropped Davies twice before referee stopped the fight.

Barroso after the win said he wants a rematch with Rolando Romero.

Barroso was winning on points against Romero in the fight for WBA World super-lightweight title in May last year, before Romero stopped him in ninth round.
