The first main international event of the year, the 68th Bocskai Memorial Tournament starts today

The first international competition of the New Year, the traditional Bocskai Memorial Tournament starts today with the Technical Meeting and Official Draw.  

The 68th edition of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament will be held in Debrecen, Hungary as all of the previous competitions in the past.

The new edition of the Bocskai could be a perfect preparation opportunity before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will take place in Busto Arsizio, North Italy between February 29 and March 13.

The first competition day of the upcoming Bocskai Memorial Tournament is on January 16 while the finals will be taking place on January 19 and 20.

The Mongolians arrived in Hungary already on January 13 to acclimatize to the Central European time zone before the start of the Bocskai Memorial.

All of the 12 women and the 13 men weight classes are in the official program at the 68th Bocskai Memorial Tournament. The women boxers will compete at the 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg weight class. The men boxers will be able to participate at the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg weight categories.

Ukraine’s 2021 World Champion, the light middleweight (71kg) star Yuriy Zakharieiev was named as the Best Male Boxer at the 66th and 67th editions of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Debrecen, Hungary in the recent two years.
