The women’s finals revealed at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament

The women’s semi-finals and key male bouts featured at the 68th edition of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Debrecen, Hungary on Day3.

The new edition of the Bocskai Memorial is a preparation event before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will take place in Busto Arsizio, North Italy between February 29 and March 13.

Poland’s Natalia Kuczewska is only 20 but she progressed rapidly in the previous months to beat a European Champion veteran, Ukraine’s Tetiana Kob which means she will now meet for the title of the light flyweight (50kg) Hungary’s Petra Mezei.

Another Polish girl, the former European Games silver medallist Sandra Drabik defeated another Ukrainian boxer, Anastasia Kovalchuk, who earned gold at the European Women’s Championships. Drabik will be meeting for the title of the women’s bantamweight (54kg) a Mongolian boxer, the World silver medallist Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg.

Hungary’s Szabina Szucs delivered her best performance just in time in the semi-finals of the Bocskai Memorial. The recovered boxer eliminated Croatia’s Olympian Nikolina Cacic and she will be facing for the title of the featherweight (57kg), Poland’s Julia Szeremeta who defeated Mongolia’s Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag.

Mongolia’s Namuun Monkhor had a tough battle against Kazakhstan’s Vladislava Kukhta in the semi-finals of the women’s lightweight (60kg) but she managed to win that contest by 3:2 split decision and she will now face for the title Ukraine’s Hanna Okhrey.

Switzerland’s Anna Jenni is member of the national team since 2019 and she had the routine to keep the control against Hungary’s Diana Cifra until the last seconds. The Swiss light welterweight (63kg) boxer can prepare to meet for the title another local girl, Timea Belik.

Hungary’s Roland Veres, the European Championships bronze medallist, lost to Valentin Koloszar in the finals of their National Championships one month ago but the featherweight (57kg) boxer made a revenge on their re-match at the Bocskai Memorial.
