Briedis – Opetaia rematch in February

After Gilberto Ramirez chose to fight Arsen Goulamirian, Latvian star Mairis Briedis (28-2, 20KOs) had to find a new opponent for his world title fight.

Ramirez is followed in the rankings by the belt’s previous owner, Jai Opetaia (24-0, 19KOs). It was announced that the Briedis-Opetaia rematch for the IBF cruiserweight world title belt will take place on the undercard of the Fury-Usyk event in Riyadh on February 17.
