The 42nd Gee Bee Tournament will be held on April 10-15

The 42^nd edition of the Gee Bee Tournament will be held in Finland’s capital in Helsinki on April 10-15 this year.

The competition venue will be the Helsinki Sport Hall where altogether 16 winners to be crowned in the new edition. The accommodation and the meals will be at the Hotel Scandic Kallio as in the previous years.

The women boxers can participate in six different weight categories in Helsinki at the 50kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 66kg, and 75kg divisions. The 10 men’s elite weight categories are in the event as follows: 51kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 92kg and +92kg.

The first edition of the Gee Bee Tournament was held in 1982 and the competition has the tradition with high quality of standard.

The last 41^st edition of the Gee Bee Tournament featured in Finland’s capital on April 2023. The United States and England both earned five gold medals in the competition but Ukraine, Canada, Finland, Lithuania, Denmark and the Netherlands all won at least one title in Helsinki.

Record number of 140 boxers including 48 women competed in the 41^st edition of the Gee Bee Tournament which is a memorial competition to remember Gunnar Baerlund, Finland’s heavyweight European Champion from 1934.

April 11, 08:00-09:00 – Men’s General Weigh-in at the Hotel Scandic Kallio

April 11, 16:15 – Day1 competition

April 12, 13:00 & 18:00 – Day2 competition

April 13, 13:00 & 18:00 – Day3 competition with the semi-finals

April 14, 13:00 – Day4 competition with the finals

April 15 – Departure of the delegations
