Munguia dominates and stops Ryder in nine rounds
Mexico’s Jaime Munguia (43-0) continued his impressive run, beating on Saturday night in Phoenix, Britain’s John Ryder (32-7) thus defending his WBC Silver super-middleweight title.
Munguia dropped Ryder thrice before referee stopped the fight at 1:25 minutes in ninth round.
Former WBO super-welterweight world champion would like to fight next with superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
“The truth is that it will be a great fight among Mexicans, and if Canelo wants the fight it would be an honor to share the ring with him”, Munguia said.
In undercard of show on Saturday night in Phoenix there were two world title fights.
Oscar Collazo (9-0) defended his WBO World minimumweight title. He KO’d Nicaraguan Reyneris Gutierrez (10-2) in third round.
Gabriela Fundora (13-0) defended her IBF World flyweight title beating Christian Cruz (6-1) by TKO in tenth round.
