The Olympic Champion super heavyweight star Mr. Bakhodir Jalolov presented medals at the Uzbekistan Youth Nationals

The Uzbekistan Youth National Championships was one of the main competitions in the recent days where several new talents shined and made strong breakthrough.

The host city of the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships was Dzhizak where all of the main officials from Uzbekistan’s sport life followed the finals. The Olympic Champion and World Champion super heavyweight star Bakhodir Jalolov presented medals for the next generation of boxers.

Boxers from the 2006 and 2007 age groups competed for the 13 available titles from the minimumweight (48kg) to the super heavyweight (+92kg).

Altogether impressive number of 297 boxers participated in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships where there were contests in the Round of 64 in four different weight categories due to the high number entries.

The local boxers from Dzhizak exceeded the previous expectations, their talents earned five gold medals in the Youth Nationals: Sayfiddin Sobirov (48kg), Shakarboy Jurayev (51kg), their best boxer Mironshokh Norkosimov (60kg), Makhsudkhon Meliyev (92kg) and Asilbek Ishmuratov (+92kg).

Asilbek Ishmuratov’s favourite boxer is Bakhodir Jalolov and the new 17-year-old super heavyweight (+92kg) talent delivered a sensation in the final, he stopped the ASBC Asian medallist Shakhzod Polvonov for the gold.

Tashkent region’s Sobir Tastanov and Andizhan’s Mukhammadaziz Kuldoshaliyev both have strong international experiences and both moved up to the bantamweight (54kg). Their meeting was one of the most anticipated ones in Dzhizak where Tastanov became the gold medallist.

The Asian Junior Champion Samandar Olimov has wonderful technical skills but he suffered an unexpected loss to his main national rival, Nodirbek Allaberganov and he claimed only a silver medal at the featherweight (57kg).

Abdullokh Tokhirov controlled the light welterweight (63.5kg), while Samandar Khabibullayev (71kg) and the 2022 Asian Junior Champion Jafarbek Shakhbazov (75kg) also impressed in their weight categories.
