Benn: Dobson is not on my level

Conor Benn’s (22-0) encounter with Peter Dobson (16-0) revealed a different Dobson from the brash antagonist seen on social media. Benn believes that Dobson uses trash talk to cover up insecurities and create hype. Benn warns that Dobson’s tactics will come at a cost during their Saturday’s main event at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Benn with fight Dobson in a 12-rounder.

Benn suggests that while Dobson needed to hype the fight, it may affect his well-being on fight night.

Dobson, a Hackensack, New Jersey resident raised in the Bronx, New York, holds a flawless record of 16 wins with 9 KOs. Despite labeling Benn as “a bum” and “a one-trick pony” since their fight was announced in December, Dobson displayed signs of nervousness during their joint promotional event.

Benn, with a record of 22 wins and 14 KOs, is the favorite according to most sportsbooks.

Benn, from Ilford, makes his second appearance since a performance-enhancing drug controversy canceled his bout with Chris Eubank Jr. in October 2022 at London’s O2 Arena.

As Benn awaits UK licensing, his last two fights occurred in the United States. In his latest match, he secured a unanimous decision victory over Rodolfo Orozco (32-4-3, 24 KOs) in a 10-round contest in Orlando, Florida.

Although this is considered a tune-up for Benn, he doesn’t underestimate Dobson, understanding that overlooking opponents can lead to upsets.
