Benn secures points win over Dobson in Las Vegas

Connor Benn (23-0) claimed a unanimous points decision win over Peter Dobson (16-1) on Saturday night in Las Vegas in the main event of the show promoted by Matchroom.

 All three judges scored the fight in favor of Benn (119:109, 118:110, 118:110).

After the victory Benn said it’s his dream to return fighting in UK, but 27-year-old does not hold a licence in his home country.

The British welterweight is awaiting the results from the British Boxing Board of Control’s appeal of the lifting of his provisional doping suspension by the National Anti-Doping Panel.

Benn has always insisted he is innocent of intentionally doping after testing positive for female fertility drug clomifene in 2022 and the appeal could be heard this month.

In the undercard of the show in Las Vegas held on Saturday night, Austin Williams (16-0) continued the unbeaten run, stopping Armel Mbumba-Yassa (10-1) in seventh round. Williams dropped Mbumba once in sixth and once in seventh round.
