Hamzah Sheeraz stops Liam Williams in first round

Hamzah Sheeraz (19-0) continued the raise in world ranking. 24-year-old middleweight on Saturday night destroyed former world title challenger Liam Williams (25-5-1) in one round, to defend WBC Silver and Commonwealth titles.

Sheeraz 15 of his victories got by way of knockout.

Against Williams he started fast dropping 31-year-old twice. He continued with attacks and Williams team threw the towel.

Sheeraz is actually nr. 4 in WBC ranking. Jermall Charlo holds the WBC World middleweight title.

In undercard of Saturday’s night show, Anthony Yarde (25-3) stopped Serbian Marko Nikolic (32-4) in third round.

Sam Noakes (13-0) stopped Lewis Sylvester (13-1) in fourth round in the fight for WBC International Silver, WBO International, Commonwealth and British lightweight titles.
