Dillian Whyte returns on March 17, will fight Christian Hammer
British heavyweight Dillian Whyte (29-3) will return in the ring Sunday night in Castlebar, Ireland. “The Body Snatcher” will face Romanian living in Germany, Christian Hammer (27-10).
For Whyte will be first fight since November 26, 2022 when he beat via majority decision Jermanine Franklin Jr.
The Briton recently clear a doping case.
Whyte was tested positive for doping in August last year before the fight against Anthony Joshua. Fight was canceled. The former interim WBC champion was allowed to continue his career after an investigation found out that he didn’t take intentionally the banned substances.
“I am very excited. It is very good to be back and I’ll be looking at opportunities in the future. I have been meaning to return to Ireland for a while, I have got family from here and they can come down to the fight. Christian Hammer, he is a guy I know, tough guy. Experienced in a lot of fights. It’s a very good fight, considering I have been off for 16 months. Very good fight to come back to. I still want the world title and I still want to fight all the big fights. There is a lot of big fights going on and I want my name to get back amongst the mix and to prove I can still beat these guys.” Whyte told Sky Sports.
