The 61st Belgrade Winner Tournament began with 20 preliminary bouts

The 61st Belgrade Winner Tournament opened in Serbia’s capital and the crowd could follow 20 preliminary bouts on Day1.

Serbia’s main international event, the 61st Belgrade Winner Tournament are holding for all of the 12 female and 13 male weight classes.

Armenia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Hungary, IBA, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Russia, host Serbia and Slovenia are the participating 16 countries in the event.

Montenegro’s Tomislav Djinovic and Hungary’s Kruzito Kovacs had similar level of boxing in the first bout of the opening session and after two rounds and both had chance to win their lightweight (60kg) meeting. The Montenegrin landed a powerful and lethal shot in the third round and the referee confirmed his RSC triumph.

Adrien Davin Carrasco has Canadian roots but he represents Bolivia in the international stage of boxing. The South American lightweight (60kg) boxer opened his campaign successfully against Belgium’s Bilal El Amrite winning the contest by RSC.

The Slovenians impressed in the first day of boxing, their Tadej Cernoga walked over to the next stage while Aljaz Sircelj and Nik Nikolov Veber eliminated their young North Macedonian and Hungarian rivals.

France’s native light middleweight (71kg) sensation, Makan Traore has already qualified for the Paris Olympic Games through the European Games and he dominated his opener against Serbia’s Uros Simjonovic.

Kazakhstan’s Youth World Champion Sabyrzhan Akkalykov amazed in the first day of boxing, the 22-year-old light middleweight (71kg) boxer defeated Serbia’s ex-Cuban Antonio Bisset by unanimous decision.

Russia’s Sergei Koldenkov is only 20-year-old but he had a strong dominance against Croatia’s Mateo Paulinic at the light welterweight (63.5kg). His teammate, Ivan Stupin controlled his debuting contest against Belgium’s Hamza Sriri at the light middleweight (71kg).

Hungary’s 19-year-old Romeo Buza was also among the winners of the first competition day.
