The quarter-finals are concluded at the Belgrade Winner Tournament

The semi-finals will be held in the 61st Belgrade Winner Tournament in Serbia’s capital today following all of the preliminaries and quarter-finals have been concluded.

Armenia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Hungary, IBA Team, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Russia, host Serbia and Slovenia are the participating 16 countries in the event.

Serbia’s European Youth star Dragana Jovanovic eliminated her local rival, Saida Bukvic in the women’s flyweight (52kg). Another 19-year-old talent in this weight class, Kaelya Mopin of France had an outstanding battle against Hungary’s Hajnalka Sipos in Belgrade on Day3.

Montenegro’s Tamara Radunovic moved up to the welterweight (66kg) and she amazed in the third day of boxing in Belgrade. The returning Montenegrin exceeded her previous level of boxing and she eliminated Russia’s Angelina Sheviakova.

Kazakhstan’s World Champion Sanzhar Tashkenbay and Spain’s European Youth Champion Rafael Lozano Serrano had a remarkable battle at the men’s flyweight (51kg) in Belgrade. The 21-year-old Kazakh star needed a fantastic finish to beat Spain’s best future hope in our sport by 3:2 split decision.

North Macedonia’s Alen Rustemovski was not the favourite against Spain’s former European Games winner Gabriel Escobar at the featherweight (57kg). The Spaniard was not able to deliver his peak performance this time and Rustemovski defeated his star opponent.

Bolivia’s Adrien Davin Carrasco managed to win his second contest in Belgrade, the lightweight (60kg) talent was better than Serbia’s Veljko Gligoric. Montenegro’s young Tomislav Djinovic also succeeded in this weight class during the quarter-finals.

Spain’s Oier Ibarreche, the European U22 Champion, had a manly battle against Armenia’s Narek Hovhannisyan but he tried to work from longer distance to avoid his opponent’s heavy shots. Ibarreche needed a full concentration until the last gong but he managed to win this tight contest in Belgrade.
