Rikiishi stops Magnesi in a dramatic fight, wins WBC Silver title

Japan’s Masanori Rikiishi (15-1) stopped Michael “Lone Wolf” Magnesi (23-2) in final round, to win WBC Silver super-featherweight title on Friday night in Lazio, Italy.

Rikiishi dropped Magnesi three times in the final round (12), and referee Hector Afu stopped the fight 26 seconds before end of the fight.

Magnesi was clearly leading on points on the cards of three judges, before the final round.

It was big victory for Rikiishi, who made a big step towards a world title chance. He earned the chance to challenge the current WBC champion O’Shaquie Foster of USA.
