Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang expected for June 1
Former world champion Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KO’s) is expected to fight China’s Zhilei Zhang (26-2-1, 21 KO’s) on June 1 in Saudi Arabia.
According ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, Wilder and Zhang are finalizing the deal and fight will be held in Riyadh in undercard of Artur Beterbiev – Dmitry Bivol fight for undisputed light-heavyweight title.
Wilder last fought in December last year loosing clear via unanimous decision from Joseph Parker of New Zealand.
Parker beat also Zhilei in March 8 this year, but by majority decision. Fight was for WBO Interim World heavyweight title. Parker was dropped twice in that fight but he dominated most of rounds.
