Tszyu aims to beat Fundora in a “convincing fashion”

Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KO’s) isn’t faced by late changed of the opponent. Australian was supposed to fight Keith Thurman on March 30 in Las Vegas, but Thurman had to cancel because of an injury.

Tszyu will face now Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1) which is 23 centimeters taller. They will fight for WBC and WBO world super-welterweight titles. Tszyu said he wants to win in a convincing fashion, like heavyweight legend Mike Tyson.

“It’s the only way,” he said. [Win in] convincing fashion – what I’ve always done. This will be a classic. When we’re talking about classics, something that’s going to be replayed forever, I’m hoping it’s going to be one of those”, Tszyu said in an interview for “BoxingScene”.

Tszyu said that after Fundora he wants to fight Terrence Crawford.

“I guess this is the drive,” Tszyu said of his continued motivation. “You drive every day so you can get into the position where you can go to the very top, pound-for-pound lists, I guess. The opportunities are endless after this, but I’m solely focused and zoned in for one job ahead”.

Tszyu, son of legend Kostya Tszyu, will headline the show in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

In that show will be couple of world title fights.

Rolando Romero (15-1) will fight Isaac Cruz (25-2-1) for WBA World super-light title, Erislandy Lara (29-3-3) will face Michael Zerafa (31-4) for WBA World middleweight title.

Juluo Cesar Martinez (20-3) and Angelino Cordova (18-0-1) will fight each-other for WBC World flyweight title and Brian Mendoza (22-3) will take on Serhii Bohachuk (23-1) for WBC Interim World super-welterweight title.
