Pena with a convincing victory against tough Brazilian Costa

Angelo Pena (9-0) managed to win convincingly against tough Brazilian Eduardo Costa Do Nascimento (10-4) on Friday night (March 29) in Bern.

Pena dropped Costa in the first round and it looked that the fight will end fast. But Nascimento recovered and he ensured that Pena has a good test.

After 10-round of an all-action fight Pena won via unanimous decision. Two judges scored the fight 97:92 in favor of Pena and one scored 96:93 also in favor of the Pena.

The IBO Continental super-featherweight champion continued his unbeaten streak.

He said after the fight that he enjoyed the battle against Nascimento and that he wanted to offer fans something to see.

“The opponent was good, but I’m ‘The One’ and not he”, said Pena.

It was the main event of the “Boxen Statt Theater” event promoted by Leander Strupler.

Pena will have his next fight on September 14 in “Mobiliar-Arena” in Pern.

Promoter Strupler said that in this fight he is supposed to fight for a title in one of the four biggest federations (WBC, WBA, WBO or IBF).

Results of undercard fights:

Gabriela Timar (11-1) beat Serafina Bela (6-7-1) of Tanzania via unanimous decision (all three judges scored 100:90).

Ramadan Hiseni (18-1-1) won via majority decision against Artjom Razhik (3-2-1) (77:75, 77:75 and 76:76).

Georgia Svechev (2-0) beat Artiom Popovici (2-3) via unanimous decision (58:56, 60:54 and 59:55).

Ahmad Shtiwi (9-0) stopped Cosmas Cheka (29-19-8) in third round.
