Kubrat Pulev beats Shevadzutskyi, wins WBA International title

Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (31-3) won the WBA Internatiional heavyweight title on Saturday night (March 30) in Sofia, Bulgaria. Pulev beat the Ukrainian Ihor Shevadzutskyi (11-2) via unanimous decision. All three judges saw Pulev as clear winner, scoring the fight 117:111 in favor of Bulgarian.

Shevadzustkyi was late replacement for Mahmoud Charr. Pulev was supposed to fight Charr for WBA “regular” World title, but the holder of title Charr injured the biceps. He was present at arena on Saturday night in Sofia.

In undercard Pulev’s brother, Tervel won via unanimous decision over 8 rounds against Rolly Lambert of Cameroon.
