New heroes at the Eupatoriada Cup in Greece

Greece’s new international competition, the Eupatoriada Cup was held in Eleftherio-Kordelio in the recent days and the event supported the preparation of all boxers.

The event was held for all age groups, the schoolboys, junior, youth, and elite boxers, all were able to compete in the Eupatoriada Cup in Greece.

Cyprus’ Panagiota Moisi stopped her Greek rival, Ageliki Strogilou at the women’s junior light bantamweight (52kg), while Slovakia’s Carolina Kollarova dominated the featherweight (57kg).

Georgia’s Rachiba Ismailova is a new competitor at the women’s minimumweight (48kg) but she claimed the title against a local girl, Athina Avramidou.

One of the top Greek female boxers, Olga Papadatou bagged the gold medal at the women’s lightweight (60kg) following her success over Slovakia’s Jana Duchonova.  

Slovakia’s young Tamara Kubalova impressed at the women’s light welterweight (63kg), she defeated two top opponents such as Greece’s World Qualifier competitor Paraskevi Mavrommati and Cyprus’ European Junior Champion Laila Abdullatif.

Greece’s Vasiliki Stavridou had a fantastic final against Georgia’s 19-year-old Tatia Bukia and she had to do her very best to beat the Caucasian rival at the women’s elite middleweight (75kg).  

Greece’s Theofanis Alvanos (57kg), Cyprus’ Nikolaos Kabourakis (60kg), Israel’s Nikita Padii (71kg) and Greece’s Panteleimon Kalogeras (80kg) were the best boxers in the men’s youth part of the Eupatoriada Cup.

The men’s elite welterweight (67kg) was one of the most difficult categories in the event where Greece’s Panagiotis Kostouros defeated Israel’s new national team member Yehor Novikov in a narrow final bout.  

Panagiotis Papanikolaou had three contests at the elite men’s light middleweight (71kg) but he had the technical skills to win all of these challenges including the final against Filippos Karamolegos.

Vagkan Nanitzanian is one of the top Greek male boxers, the 25-year-old heavyweight (92kg) star won his category in the Eupatoriada Cup
