Shala aims to become EBU Heavyweight champion

Kosovan living in Germany, Granit Shala (15-0) will face undefeated Ukrainian Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (18-0) for EBU European heavyweight title on April 13 in Berlin.

It will be main event of the show promoted by AGON Sport.

Shala speaking for “024Boxing” said that he is very motivated ahead of the fight and aims to win the title.

Shala, 192-centimeter tall, will have in front of him an opponent that is 14 centimeters taller.

Shala said he had great sparring in Spain with Poland’s Mariusz Wach and he will continue training in Germany.

“I’m in very good shape and my aim is to win the title”, said Shala.

His coach Agron Kurtisi said the preparations are going well.

“Everything is going well, we had great preparation in Mallorca and will continue training in Germany. It was a bit of challenge, since there were 5-6 fighters that were proposed as opponent for EBU title, including Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce, but neither of them agreed. We will have in front a tall opponent but we are prepared”, Kurtisi said.
