White and Pumphrey both won their openers by RSC in Porec

The English stars such as Ruby White and Alice Pumphrey both won their openers at the European Youth Boxing Championships in Porec by RSC in the first round.

England’s European Junior Champion Ruby White had an experienced opponent today but she stopped Poland’s Nadia Formela at the minimumweight (48kg). Her teammate, another very tough English girl, Alice Pumphrey won her opener also by RSC in the first round, she smashed Ireland’s Carlagh Peake.  

France’s Mathilda Fragnieres found the best fighting distance against Spain’s Claudia Alcaniz in the first minute and she had a massive advantage on the judges’ scorecards. Due to the heavy shots of the French boxer, the ringside doctor stopped this minimumweight (48kg) bout and confirmed Fragnieres’ success.

Czech Republic’s Katrin Ivanovova is a tall boxer at the women’s lightweight (60kg) and she used her longer hands to dominate the first round against Armenia’s Lilit Asatryan. The Czech girl finished their contest in the second round and she joined the quarter-finals following this RSC success.

Italy’s Ginevra Muzzi won several big events during her career and she had the control against Belarus’ Alina Kardziushova in their lightweight (60kg) meeting. Her teammate, Martina Vassallo progressed rapidly and her skills were enough to beat France’s Aya Baadi at the light flyweight (50kg).

Hungary’s Kata Muncz was quarter-finalist at the 2022 EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships and the former kick-boxer opened her campaign successfully against Spain’s Carnerero Candela at the light welterweight (63kg). The Hungarian talent will now meet one of the stars of this weight class, Ireland’s Ava Rose Henry Lyndon for the medal.

The women’s boxing in Georgia is in promising stage, their teenage talents achieved some good results in 2023. Their Ana Khvedelidze had a clear dominance over Belarus’ Aryna Borsuk while Poland’s No.1 Kinga Krowka also impressed at the women’s light welterweight (63kg) on Day3.
