Cyprus and Romania were the bests in Porec on Day6

Romania and Cyprus were the best nations during the sixth competition day at the European Youth Boxing Championships in Porec, Croatia.

The 2006 and 2007 born boxers are eligible to participate at the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships in Porec.

Cyprus’ Laila Abdullatif, the European Junior Champion, moved up to the light welterweight (63kg) but she was energetic and strong against Turkey’s Esmaul Husna Barat therefore she earned a guaranteed medal in Porec.

Following Laila Abdullatif’s success, another Cyprian boxer, Spyros Velios impressed in the sixth day of boxing. Their best youth male boxer had a massive advantage against Latvia’s Adrians Krists Pavlovs after two rounds and he had the tough shots in the third to win their featherweight (57kg) contest.

Romania’s Amalia Tugui and Azerbaijan’s European Champion Emili Rzayeva had a brilliant battle at the women’s welterweight (66kg) in Porec. The Azeri talent had a tight advantage on the scorecards but Tugui landed decisive shots in the third and the Spanish referee confirmed her RSC success.

Romania’s Fabian Mihai Stroe dominated the first round against Slovenia’s Tine Jakomini and he had the 10:8 advantage on the judges’ scorecards. The Romanian bantamweight (54kg) boxer finished their contest in the second round and he delivered another RSC victory for his nation in Porec.

The 17-year-old Adam Maca is one of their new sensations who returned to his grassroots and he represents Albania in the international stage. The strong Albanian featherweight (57kg) boxer destroyed Bruno Bacac’s defence in the first round and he won the bout against the Croatian by a quick RSC.   

Armenia’s Erik Arstamyan had a powerful performance against Kosovo’s Lumturim Xhoxhaj and he managed to join the quarter-finals at the featherweight (57kg). Greece’s Georgios Pleas delivered a classic KO success over North Macedonia’s Adrijan Rustemovski in the last bout of the day.
