Perfect session for Germany and Belezika made a strong debut among the elite boxers in Helsinki

All of the German boxers advanced to the finals through the afternoon session of the 42^nd Gee Bee Tournament in Helsinki on Day3. Sweden’s teenage talent Elwin Belezika made a sensational debut among the elite boxers today.

Finland’s Aleksei Pak, who has Korean and Estonian roots, opened the campaign of the third competition day with clear dominance, he eliminated Touko Nyman at the men’s light middleweight (71kg).

Chinese Taipei’s Lin Chia Hsin competed in the last edition of the World Boxing Championships and he used his defensive skills to keep Finland’s Akseli Saurama on long but the local boy reduced the distance successfully.

Germany’s Cologne Boxing World Cup winner Deniel Krotter and Czech Republic’s Kelvin Soquessa both have strong international routine but the first was better in the exchanges and he advanced to the finals of the light middleweight (71kg).

Germany’s next hope, Ben Ehis succeeded against Finland’s former kick-boxer, the promising 20-year-old Jaakko Haanpaa at the light heavyweight (80kg) in a superb contest. Estonia’s Leon Kermas used his longer reach against Finland’s Topias Vaittinen and he managed to win their cruiserweight (86kg) bout.  

Netherlands’ Gradus Kraus impressed in the second day of boxing and he tried to repeat the same performance against Denmark’s Sebastian Terteryan who moved up to the light heavyweight (80kg) this year. The 23-year-old Dutch landed the stronger punches and he won all of the three rounds in their semi-final meeting in Helsinki.

Germany’s Alexander Okafor, the European U22 bronze medallist, returned to the squad after five months of break but he won his second contest in Helsinki and joined the final of the heavyweight (92kg) after beating Finland’s Hadi Taslim.

Sweden’s Elwin Belezika, the European Youth bronze medallist, is a 19-year-old talent who makes his debut among the elite boxers but he felt the tempo against Germany’s Tyron Amo therefore the teenage will box for the title of the heavyweight (92kg).
