Dubois: I will retire Hrgovic

Daniel Dubois (20-2-0, 19 KOs), showcased his resilience in a pivotal match against Jarrell Miller last December. The 26-year-old’s victory was seen as a redemption after his previous setbacks, notably a loss to Oleksandr Usyk and a defeat to Joe Joyce in 2020. Dubois faced criticism, with doubts about his heart and determination circulating in the aftermath.

However, he remains undeterred and attended a recent press conference announcing his upcoming bout against Filip Hrgovic, the IBF’s No. 1 contender and an undefeated fighter with a record of (17-0-0, 14 KOs). Dubois acknowledged their past sparring sessions, noting his improvement since then. Hrgovic, however, hinted at Dubois’ struggles during their sparring encounters. Dubois admitted that sparring with Hrgovic was tough but remains focused on the upcoming fight. Hrgovic declared that if he loses to Dubois, he would retire from boxing.

In response, Dubois vowed to retire Hrgovic himself, confident in his ability to deliver another impressive performance, akin to his victory over Miller.
