Atlas: Turki Alalkish is the face of boxing

According to Teddy Atlas, Turki Alalshikh, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority minister, is revolutionizing boxing. By hosting the undisputed heavyweight and light-heavyweight title fights in Riyadh on May 18 and June 1 respectively, Alalshikh has become the most influential figure in the sport.

His financial backing has united promoters like Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, paving the way for major bouts in Saudi Arabia. The upcoming Fury – Usyk fight on May 18 marks a significant moment, with the winner becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the century.

Atlas commends Alalshikh for recognizing the importance of an undisputed heavyweight champion in revitalizing the sport. He believes this move will not only elevate boxing’s status but also make it more accessible worldwide. In Atlas’s view, the sport is thriving and relevant once again, thanks to Alalshikh’s vision and investment.
