Antonio Nicolau Hau Da Silva is the first ever boxer from Timor Leste who competes in an ASBC Asian Championships. The 22-year-old Da Silva was competitive against Mongolia’s Tuvshinzaya Otgonbayar. Da Silva moved forward more in the second round and he had nice hooks but the Mongolian had the routine to handle the tactical jobs in this fight.
Sri Lanka’s best male boxer is Umayanga Mihiran, their National Champion, but he had to meet Uzbekistan’s Asilbek Jalilov who earned the title at the 2022 Asian U22 Boxing Championships. Both boxers were born in 2003 and had the similar fighting style but in that chess game Jalilov was better in their flyweight (51kg) meeting today.
Iran’s Nima Bayati has strong experiences from the youth age group and he moved forward to gain the control against Philippines’ John Paul Napoles today. The Iranian progressed in terms of physical skills and speed therefore Bayati controlled all of the three rounds against a tall Filipino opponent.
Mongolia’s Elite National Champion Dorjnyambuu Ganbold is their best U22 boxer in the squad who used his fantastic footwork to keep Palestine’s Wasim Abusal on long in their featherweight (57kg) contest.
