Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang was the cutest winner in Astana on Day4

The first part of the U22 quarter-finals were featured in the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan today.

Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Timor Leste, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are the participating 25 countries in Astana.

Uzbekistan’s top star in the U22 national team, the Youth World Champion Jakhongir Zokirov is the new super heavyweight (+92kg) king in the world. The 20-year-old boxer had a relatively slow start against India’s Rhythm and after that he destroyed his opponent in the second round.

Kazakhstan’s Asian Youth Champion Amanat Sabyrgali controlled the first round against Aizihaier Tuohongdaji but his Chinese opponent had good responses in the second. The 21-year-old Sabyrgali speeded up his process in the third round and the local super heavyweight (+92kg) favourite eliminated the Chinese boxer.

India’s Tamanna is a very experienced female boxer in their U22 national team who claimed Asian titles in the past therefore she was the favourite against Nepal’s Ramisha Shrestha. The Indian had to keep the focus against her rival who developed well in the previous two years but Tamanna had the routine to win this quarter-final.

Thailand’s Asian Youth runner-up Natnicha Chongprongklang moved down to the bantamweight (54kg) and she used her beautiful technical skills to win her quarter-final against Vietnam’s Tran Thi Kim Chi.

The next fantastic performance in this weight class was delivered by Kazakhstan’s Youth World Champion Elina Bazarova who also stopped her opponent, Mongolia’s Ariunzul Chinbat.

Uzbekistan’s Mushtariybonu Ibrakhimjonova stopped Chinese Taipei’s Yao Ching Yu at the women’s U22 lightweight (60kg) and Kazakhstan’s Shakhnazar Issayeva also have done a quick triumph over Tajikistan’s Dilnoza Nurimova.
