The women’s youth finals are confirmed in Astana

The final line-ups in the women’s youth part of the Asian Championships are confirmed in Astana.

Uzbekistan’s Zilolakhon Yusufova was smaller than India’s Nisha and it was hard for her to reach the opponent. The Uzbek flyweight (52kg) boxer could not maintain the best distance in their semi-final and Nisha secured her spot in the day of the finals on Monday.

India’s Tamanna is an experienced boxer at the women’s bantamweight (54kg) who worked well in the first round against Vietnam’s Vu Thi Thom and she had the advantages on the scorecards. Vu was not an easy opponent and she found her distance in the second round therefore Tamanna needed one more strong period to beat the Vietnamese today.

Kazakhstan’s Ayazhan Yermek has strong pedigree from the previous international competitions and she tried to control the first round against India’s Shirishkumar Patel Yatri with her jabs. The Kazakh featherweight (57kg) boxer had better shots in the first and second rounds to win their semi-final battle in the front of the local crowd.

Tolganay Kassymkhan earned junior titles last year and she joined to the youth national team this January with impressive results. The 17-year-old Kazakh was still enough fresh to win the lightweight (60kg) semi-final and the dream final with India’s Nikita Chand has realized in Astana.

China’s Dina Shanatibieke returned to Kazakhstan after two months and she used her longer hands to stop her Uzbek rival, Rukhshona Shakarova. The Chinese welterweight (66kg) boxer had the dominance in the second round therefore her coach Mr. Timur Akhbayev abandoned this semi-final bout.

Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova is one of the top stars in women’s youth boxing, the multiple Asian Champion had a tough semi-final against her technician opponent, Alimire Abudureyimu of China. The taller Chinese boxer had also brilliant technical skills and she surprised the Uzbek star in their light middleweight (70kg) semi-final which is Toirova’s first ever loss in her career.
