Chantelle Cameron signs with Queensberry Promotions

Former undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron has signed with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

After splitting with trainer Jamie Moore in February, 32-year-old Cameron was released by Matchroom Boxing earlier this week.

Cameron has won 18 professional fights from 19 that she fought. She was defeated by Katie Taylor in Dublin in November, having beaten the Irishwoman on points in their first meeting in May.

“I feel like I just want to bite everyone’s head off,” Cameron said on Friday. “I took that loss, I know what I’m capable of and I won’t let it happen again.

“Anyone that’s in my way I am coming for them, I am going to get my belts back one way or another.”

Cameron unified the division against American Jessica McCaskill in 2022, becoming the first boxer from England to hold all four recognized world titles.

Her breakout night, however, came when she inflicted a first career defeat on pound-for-pound star Taylor last year.

A trilogy bout was in the works for this summer but Taylor instead opted for a rematch with Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano.

The Northampton fighter was unveiled as Queensberry’s new signing, alongside Aadam Hamed – son of former world champion Prince Naseem Hamed.

Super-lightweight Hamed Jr made his professional debut in August, stopping Vojtech Hrdy in the first round in Poland on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk v Daniel Dubois.

“I want to be respected for Aadam Hamed rather than being respected for Naz’s boy, make my own legacy and be my own man, ” he said. “I take this serious. Sooner or later, you’re going to find out.”
