There are matches, which are never to be forgotten, and there are boxing icons, who are going to stay with us for eternity.

Jack Dempsey was one of the most iconic professional world champions in the history of boxing, especially in the first half of the 20th century. Besides his achievements in the ring as a heavyweight contender, he was successful as well after his retirement outside the ring.

The former champion opened his own restaurant and he became a real movie star in the United States. He started his acting career in 1920 (he was still an active boxer during his first appearance), and four years later he had plenty roles in different kind of movies.

The Manassa Mauler played different characters from 1920 until 1962 in a total of 24 productions. He had a long and successful life, which ended in 1983, when Dempsey was 87 years old.
