The final line-ups are confirmed in the Eindhoven Box Cup
The semi-finals of the Eindhoven Box Cup delivered several surprised in the Netherlands where 31 contests were on the official program on Day2.
Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Mongolia, the Netherlands, and Sweden all sent strong boxers to the Eindhoven Box Cup.
The dream final of the women’s lightweight (60kg) has realized between Brazil’s Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Beatriz Ferreira and the host nation’s Chelsey Heijnen following their victories over Australian and Irish rivals.
Algeria’s World Championships silver medallist and the African No.1 at the women’s welterweight (66kg), Imane Khelif controlled her semi-final against a smaller opponent, Netherlands’ Luna Beeloo and she can prepare another hard bout against Australia’s Marissa Williamson-Pohlman.
Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira is one of the best boxers at the men’s featherweight (57kg) who showed his impressive technical repertoires against Sweden’s Hadi Hadrous. The Brazilian will face for the title of this strong weight category with Australia’s Pacific Games winner Charlie Senior.
Belgium’s Rasul Tisayev competed in various youth events in the previous two years but he is still a newcomer in the elite age group. The 19-year-old Belgian was unstoppable for a German youngster, Arian Gohar and Tisayev has the chance to take the title of the category against Mongolia’s Enkhtur Tegshjargal.
The participants have been divided into two parts in the men’s light middleweight (71kg) in Eindhoven where the four finalists are Germany’s Alex Schiller, Netherlands’ Finn Bos, Chinese Taipei’s Kan Chia Wei and Australia’s Shannan Davey.
The Australians amazed in the heavier weight categories, firstly the Commonwealth Games silver medallist Callum Peters smashed Germany’s Vitaly Walter quickly, before Teremoana Junior stopped Algeria’s Mourad Kadi at the super heavyweight (+92kg).
