Legendary boxing matches – Legendary boxers: Big George

There are matches, which are never to be forgotten, and there are boxing icons, who are going to stay with us for eternity.

Back in the 60’s and 70’s there were a lot of amazing heavyweight contenders and a couple of them became real legends. One of them was George Foreman, famous for his aggressive style and extreme big punching power.

Here are three interesting facts about the Olympic gold winner and two times professional world champion:

1.     His first loss was during his professional career against Muhammad Ali at their match, which is referred to as the famous “Rumble in the Jungle”. It was Foreman’s 41st match.

2.     There was a 10-year hiatus between his 47th and 48th professional match (the former was in 1977 and the latter in 1987)

3.     Besides his famous grill business Foreman has interest in clothing lines, endorsement deals, and licensing agreements, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
