Iglesias defends IBO World title with huge KO win over Shvedenko
Cuba’s Osleys Iglesias (11-0, 10 KOs) is continuing to impress. Iglesias on Thursday night in Montreal, Canada stopped Russia’s Evgeny Shvedenko (16-2-1) on the first round and defended IBO World super-middleweight title. Iglesias dropped Shvedenko with a strong right and referee immediately stopped the fight.
In the main fight of the show promoted by Eye of Tiger, Patrice Volny (19-1) won WBC Francophone middleweight title, stopping former world-title challenger Steven Butler (34-5-1) in ninth round.
Swiss based Kosovan, Ramadan Hiseni (18-1-2) impressed and managed to get a draw against Shamil Khataev (12-0-1) of Russia in a 10 round middleweight fight. Two judges scored the fight as draw 95:95 and one gave the victory to Khataev (96:94).
