Broner suffers surprise defeat from Blair Cobbs

Blair Cobbs (17-1-1) floored four-weight champion Adrien Broner (35-5-1) in the second round and got a surprise victory on Friday night (June 7) in Florida, USA.

Cobbs won the 10-round welterweight bout via unanimous decision. One judge scored the fight 97:92 and two others 96:93 all in favor of Cobbs.

For Broner (34) it was major set-back.

Cobbs signed with Don King Productions earlier, specifically to land this bout.

“One of the items on my message board… fight Adrien Broner,” Cobbs said after the win.
